Can you believe there is only 1 week left of the Spring Term?
This week is Autism Awareness week. We have talked in school about how everyone is unique, that we all have things that we like and dislike. The children have shared their strengths and also what they find tricky. Here is some of the work we have done about What makes me 'Me'!
In year 2 we love making our fingers stronger to improve our writing stamina. Here we are pinching, splatting and prodding the play dough in our dough disco session.
Friday 25th March 2022
This week we have had a big focus in Maths on using our vocabulary and improving our reasoning skills. We have done lots of activities in our Maths books as well as practical ones. We have enjoyed completing patterns and finding missing shapes in sequences too.

This week we have been learning all about 2D shapes in Maths. Year 2 are feeling confident naming and describing properties of 2D shapes.

Friday 11th March 2022
This week we have really enjoyed our science lessons in school. We are continuing with our new topic about plants so went outside to have a closer look. We used magnifying glasses to see close up what the plants looked like. Then we used our observations to draw what we had observed.

What a week to come back to after half term.
We have had both Spanish Day and World Book Day this week which has meant we have had lots of fun and opportunities to learn in different ways. It has been fantastic.
Our new topic is Australia and we will be revealing our new Literature Works text next week.

We discussed how important it is for our voices to be heard by Prime Ministers and Presidents and how peaceful protests send important messages to world leaders. We want to protect our world and reduce tree cutting, stop burning fossil fuels and use renewable energy like the sun and wind.
