Byker Primary School

School Clubs

Dear Parents,

We are hoping to start a new club on Monday 4th October 2021. The club will be called ‘Morning club’. The primary reason for this club is to support those families who require a regular drop off at school that is earlier than the normal start of the day. This club will be free.

This club will not serve food, but children may bring a healthy snack if they wish.

The club will open at 8:15am for parents to drop off their children. There will be a set number of places to ensure enough staff are available to look after the children attending.

Firstly, we need to consider numbers of children who may need this facility. Please complete the form below if you feel that you would need this for your child/ children.

Please could you return the forms to the school office by Wednesday 21st September 2021, or email the office at office@bykerprimary.co.uk using the subject Morning Club.

Extra-curricular Clubs

We run a variety of extra-curricular clubs during lunchtime and after school for children in Years 1 - 6.  The choice of club changes termly and children have the opportunity to sign up to a new club at the start of each term.  We aim to provide a range of clubs that will appeal to different children so that every child can find a club that interests them.  Examples of clubs include:  Dodgeball, Portuguse club, Gymnastics, Football Clubs for all ages, Lego & ICT Club, Byker Brothers, Byker beats singing club, Glee Club, Film Club and many more.

In order to provide the children with opportunities to attend inter-school competitions, we run clubs in co-operation with our partner from across Newcastle City.  We also work with external organisations such as Newcastle United Foundation, Newcastle Falcons Rugby, Newcastle Eagles and Newcastle Music Service in order to provide a wider variety of extra-curricular activities.
