SEN Support Hub
Published 11/11/25We are excited to announce our next SEND Support Hub event, delivered on behalf of Newcastle Parent Carer Forum. It is a chance for parents and carers to learn about local education, health and social care services for children and young people with additional needs and disabilities (aged 0 to 25). Representatives from a range of these services will be there to share information and chat about what support they can offer.
Date: Wednesday 26th November 2025
Time: 10am to 1pm
Location: Galafield Family Hub, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE5 1LZ

Year 3 RE visit
Published 07/11/25Year 3 trip to St Silas Church. They demonstrated their knowledge of the Nativity by retelling the story and placing characters in the scene and then tasted the host/Eucharistic bread.

Author Adam Bushnell Visit Year 6
Published 07/11/25Because Year 6 are studying The Highway Man, Author Adam Bushnell focused on spooky settings and storytelling. The children created a spooky setting and thought about different figurative language that could be used to describe it. To finish, they told their stories under the tables with torches to add to the drama!

Team Work in Reception
Published 07/11/25This week, Reception have been working on selecting the correct resources to complete a specific task, as well as working in teams. There were 3 tasks set. They were: create a parachute, bridge or house to protect an egg and see if they are stable enough to stop the egg cracking. Within our teams, we had access to lots of different resources and had to decide between ourselves what we thought was going to work and what we didn't. The children had so much fun when we experimented to see if our designs were successful.

Guy Fawkes Reception
Published 07/11/25Reception have been learning all about Bonfire night and the history of Guy Fawkes, and to celebrate it in school, we made our very own chocolate sparklers. The children were able to follow the step-by-step instructions to make their sparklers and then got to eat them! They were described as delicious, crunchy and even tasted like an ice cream cone!

Around the World Club
Published 23/10/25Over half term and the following weekends, ENACT will be running their ‘Around the World Club’ sessions at the Great North Museum, where kids can come along to learn about different cultures through crafts and share with their families in a welcoming community space. It will be hosted in the Clore Learning Centre (see attached map for more info), and the sessions will be run as follows:
28th October, 10am-4pm Learn to craft Yalda Postcards, Afghan Kites, and Dia de Muertos-inspired paper masks.
1st and 2nd November, 10am-4pm Learn to craft Diwali Lanterns and Somali Folklore Creatures.
8th November, 10am-4pm Learn how to make Turkish Marbling Art and Karagöz Shadow Puppets.
16th November, 10am-4pm Learn to craft Eidiya and Sudanese Riverboats.
These sessions will be free, and families are encouraged to drop by between the above times to join in and there will be free refreshments! We feel this would be a fun opportunity for the kids to get out and learn something new, as well as meet other families from similar backgrounds.

Halloween Disco
Published 23/10/25Thank you to all who attended the Halloween Disco and supported the fundraising opportunity for Year 6 pupils. It was great to see so many pupils dressed up, having a spooky time with friends and staff.
