First Week in Year 6 - Transition Fortnight W.C. 11.07.22

Year 6 have enjoyed their first week getting to know Miss Taylor, Miss Thompson and Mrs Pace. They have found their feet following new routines and had a lovely introduction to the Year 6 curriculum. In Maths, we have recapped some Addition and Subtraction, Place Value and Rounding. In English, we have began reading the novel 'Wonder' which is all about a 10 year old boy named August who starts school for the first time due to having disabilities. We have identified themes and linked them to how we may be also feeling starting Year 6 for the first time. 

We have spent our afternoons engaging with some PSHCE activities such as getting to know each other, drawing class selfie pop art to display in our classroom, making worry dolls and reading 'The Boy, The Mole, The Fox and The Horse' followed with some watercolour illustrations. 

We look forward to our next week together before we break up for the Summer Holidays.
