Byker Primary School

Week commencing 6.7.20

Hello Year 4,

We are getting closer and closer to the Summer holidays, but we still have a little work to do before then! We hope you are enjoying your learning from home and the activities we set.  The text we are using in English (The Butterfly Lion) is actually the class text we would have been using this term.  It is a wonderful story, which touches the hearts of people both young and old.  A bit like when we read the 'Boy at the Back of the Class'.  Mrs Barnes and Ms Jarvis cried when they read it! smiley

By now, I am sure you have heard that a few more business are beginning to open up. The 4th July was the date set by Boris Johnson for things like restaurants and most importantly hairdressers to open. My hair (Mr Goldsborough) is shocking at the moment. I have had a go at cutting the sides myself since lock-down started, but I will leave it to the professionals from now on! laugh

Our interesting fact this week is... on the 6th July 2005, the International Olympic Committee decided that the 2012 Olympics were going to be hosted by London. What an amazing spectacle it was! Athletes like Mo Farah, Greg Rutherford and Jessica Ennis-Hill won gold for Team GB.  We have lots of great sportsmen and women in Year 4, so we have attached some clips below for you to watch.

Good luck with this weeks activities and keep up the hard work! Remember, only do what you can and take regular breaks.  We are super proud of our cyber school learners!

Stay safe and keep smiling! heart

Mr Goldsborough, Ms Jarvis and Mrs Barnes.
