Byker Primary School

Good Morning boys and girls and happy Monday!

I want to start by saying a huge THANK YOU! Thank you to each and every single one of you who have sent in your FANTASTIC work to our Byker Books Facebook page. You have no idea how much this has cheered me up and really made me smile. Keep sending it in guys, it really is superb!!!!!!!

We are now into the last week of April, WOW, how has that happened?

I thought we could start off this morning by singing our 'Months of the Year' song. Can you tell your adult which month we are going to be in after April?

I hope you have all had a lovely weekend and managed to make the most of the wonderful sunshine, hasnt it been glorious?

It's not getting any easier, and I am missing you all so much. It is super important however boys and girls that we focus on spending time with our loved ones, but most importantly, you are all staying safe.

Mrs. Smith will be uploading the topic work for this week, so please do check it out! As usual, I will be uploading some Maths and Phonics activities. The phonics activity this week is based around one of my favourite stories 'The Very Hungry Caterpillar'. It is an ongoing task where you have 1 activity per day leading to an end product. I hope you enjoy doing iy. Remember it is entirely up to you if you choose to complete it. I will ensure it is light hearted and fun work for you to complete if you wish too.

As always everyone, keep shining, and most importantly, keep smiling!

Good morning Reception!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend and are having a good start to the week.

As well as uploading maths and phonics activities for my class, over the course of the week, I also have 4 pieces of topic work for all of Reception.  The first is to investigate 'fiction' and 'non fiction' stories.  I have uploaded 2 video's for you to watch.  Discuss these with your family; can you spot the difference?  Happy watching!

Throughout our time in Reception we have used the Internet and books to find out information using either a search engine such as Google and/or a dictionary.  Use one or both to find a definition for 'fiction' and 'non fiction' for kids.  You may need the help of an older brother, sister or adult to help you to look up these words and read what they mean.  Happy hunting!

Below I have attached maths and phonics activities for you to enjoy.  There are 3 activities in each that build on each other but do not feel you have to do all of these.  Take your time and have fun.

Have the best day.  We can do this because we are all amazing!

Mrs Smith.
